Mobile Casino Nights and Fun Casinos in Scotland

Mobile Blackjack Table in Scotland

The Magic Agency supplies the best Mobile Casino tables and Croupiers in Scotland.

Currently, we can provide Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, Craps, and a Wheel of Fortune.

Our standard Fun Casino consists of two Blackjack tables and one Roulette table complete with three professional croupiers. However, for larger events we can supplement this with more tables and a Casino Manager to make sure things run smoothly.

Corporate Hospitality

You don't charge the guests. Each guest is given some fun money at the start of the evening. They then use the fun money to "buy" casino chips at the tables.

At the end of the evening, the chips are counted and the person (or persons) with the most chips, wins a prize.

The prize is supplied by you and can be whatever you want to give away.

Mobile Roulette in Scotland

Fund-Raising

At the start of the evening people buy fun-money from you and then use the fun-money to "buy" casino chips from the casino tables.

You can charge as much as you like for the fun-money and that is your gross profit e.g. one hundred people pay £20 for fun-money - so, the gross profit is £2000.

Deduct the price of the Casino hire and that is your nett profit.

At the end of the evening, the guest's chips are counted and the person (or persons) with the most chips, wins a prize.

The prize is supplied by you and can be whatever you want to give away.

Testimonials

"Hi Michael,
Our Casino night was a great success. The croupiers were great fun and showed a lot of patience and tolerance with some of the guests who really didn't have a clue how to play! Please pass on our thanks and gratitude. We made a lot of money for the trip. Even passing strangers - people who were using the gym that night, came up to us and left some substantial donations.

Thanks once again. I have passed on your details to some people who are thinking about running a charity night, so you may be getting another few emails from this area."
Helen Byrne, Firpark School Fund-raiser, 2008

"I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to the Croupiers, who provided us with such a great service. They were very friendly and very helpful." - Mr. Green, 2007

"The Casino tables and Croupiers were fantastic." - T-Mobile, 2006

"Hi, I would just like to send my thanks to your company, the casino crew and the juggler that I hired on saturday night. They were fantastic, and I will not hesitate in using you and your acts again many thanks." - Stacey Millen, 2005

"I am writing to say how delighted I was with the two croupiers who ran the two Roulette tables for my birthday party on Saturday night. They were set up earlier than expected and were diligent and attentive throughout the evening.

Even more than this, they were entertaining, engaging and courteous to all my family and guests. I was truly delighted with the service.

I would recommend The Magic Agency to all who are looking for a similar entertainment service, whether for a private party or a corporate event."
Ken Morton, 2005

FAQs

To help you run a successful night, here is some basic information and some of the frequently asked questions about casino night organisation

Q) Is it legal?
A) Yes. If you follow our advice and promote and run the night according to the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976.

Q) How does a casino night work?
A) A casino night will try and give your guests the most authentic casino experience as possible. Your guests use fun money to buy casino chips from the croupiers at the tables. They then use the chips to play the games.

Q) What games are available?
A) All of the games are presented on full size casino tables with all of the hardware required to play the game. All of the main casino games are available:
Blackjack: card game similar to pontoon.
Roulette: predict the result of the spinning ball on a wheel.
Poker: Caribbean Stud Poker (5 Card).
Craps: dice game: predict the roll of two dice.
Wheel of Fortune: spin the large wheel to get the lucky number.

Q) How many tables will I need?
A) One roulette table will serve around 50 people, a blackjack, poker or craps table will serve 30 people. Usually a casino night will consist of two-three tables to give your guests a choice and some variety.

Here is a general guide based on everyone wanting to play the tables.

  • 1 table caters for up to 30 people
  • 2 tables caters for 30-60 people
  • 3 tables caters for 60-100 people
  • 4 tables caters for 100-150 people
  • 5 tables caters for 150-200 people
  • 6 tables caters for 200-250 people
  • 7 tables caters for 250-300 people
  • 8 tables caters for 300-350 people
  • 9 tables caters for 350-400 people
  • 10 tables caters for 400-450 people

Obviously, this is not an exact science and will depend on how the guests play the tables. So, when in doubt, please ask us.

Q) How long do I get them for?
A) Two-three hours is usually sufficient for most events. However, it will depend on how many people are present. Ask us and we will give you our honest opinion, based on years of experience.

Q) Do you set up the tables?
A) Yes, we deliver and set them up before the event.

Q) Are the rules to the games different from a real casino?
A) No, all of the games are played according to standard casino rules.

Q) Are the croupiers supplied?
A) Yes, the price includes professional croupiers, who will run the tables for the duration of the event. However, a Casino Manager will cost a little bit extra.

Q) What will I have to do on the evening?
A) If you hire one of our Casino Managers with the Casino, then you don't have to do anything. The Casino Manager will run the Casino Night and at the end of the event will inform you of the winners. In the case of a fund-raising event, all you have to do is collect the cash.
If you don't wish to hire a Casino Manager, then you would hand out or sell the envelopes of Fun Money, and, in the case of a fund-raiser, collect the cash. The Croupiers will tell you who won. Neither the Casino Manager nor the Croupiers will handle real cash, for obvious reasons.

Q) What will I have to do before the event?
A) The main job to be done is organise the prize(s) for the winning guest(s).
For a fund raising event the publicity is very important as the size of your crowd will determine the how much funds will be raised.

Q) How much space will the casino require?
A) The casino tables supplied are full size casino tables. The Roulette is approx 8ft by 3ft, the Craps table is 6ft by 4ft, the Poker and Blackjack tables are 5ft by 3ft. The blackjack and poker tables require 8 seats per table (not supplied).

Q) What other entertainment could be organised?
A) The casino night could be organised as part of a themed evening such as James Bond or a Las Vegas Casino. A James Bond evening may involve the guests in fancy dress such as tuxedos or bond 'baddies'.

The Law Pertaining to Casino Nights

From the Department for Culture Media & Sport Factsheet about Casino Nights.

"Casino nights may be held as part of an 'exempt entertainment', as laid down in section 15 of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976. A copy of the Act can be obtained from the www.hmso.gov.uk

Under Section 15, the promoters of an 'exempt entertainment' (i.e. a fete, dinner, dance, sporting event or bazaar) may provide as part of the entertainment any 'amusement with prizes', whether it is a lottery or gaming or both, provided the following  conditions are met:

  • That the whole proceeds of the entertainment, after deducting the expenses of the entertainment, shall be devoted to purposes other than private gain.
  • That the facilities for winning prizes at such amusements are not the only or substantial inducement to persons to attend the entertainment

Casino nights offered by commercial organisations

For many years, commercial organisations have offered to provide equipment and gaming staff to persons organising casino nights. These events are becoming more numerous and may not always fall within the law.

In many instances it is clear that, far from being incidental to the overall entertainment, it is intended to be the main if not the only attraction of the event and is, therefore, unlawful.

The legality of such gaming depends very much on individual circumstances and only the courts can interpret definitively whether an entertainment is lawful or not. If any doubt exists, a promoter should seek legal advice.

Other issues to consider

With bankers games, in the long term, the banker can expect to come out on top because he has the mathematical edge. Since these are games of chance, however, it is possible for the bank to lose heavily in the short term.

For that reason, licensed casinos are required to maintain substantial cash reserves to cover short term losses. Promoters should, therefore, consider structuring the games in such a way as to limit their downside potential.
